Dazed
His arms rested at his sides, his head laying on the pillow, staring up. No parts of their bodies touched except their chests and their fragile joining. The fingers were deceptively feminine, so soft and gentle as they danced across his leathery skin, and it was this that subsided his rage and humiliation. This was his domain. The other had no right to do this. But death was a persuasive mistress. And whom was he to deny this transient love? Never did the other steal a kiss from him. Was it out of disgust or because the last lips that had touched his were tainted with betrayal? And the other surely had no intention of taking that away from him. Each violent thrust equated to a heartbeat, solemn as it may be. But the pulsations would never course through his body, for the first time truly a curse – they could snap him out of his delirium; give him enough sense to see the mercilessness of the act, rather then making him only see the compassion and tenderness, when there was really none to be had. But the skin’s seemingly pale purity made him believe so, even as the other dressed himself in his luxurious regalia, his blue eyes – ones that held a naïve innocence long ago, gazed at the unblemished skin, so unlike his own. But every mark on his was by his own hand, a single scar for a single thought of yearning. Tonight he went over the X upon his heart.
